At D&M we utilise the latest technologies to ensure the best possible product for every customer. We have installed the state of the art 10KW Bystronic Fiber Laser with full sheet handling automation.
This allows us to cut a wide range of metals at differing thicknesses. Specifically, we are able to cut up to 30mm in Stainless Steel and Aluminium, 25mm Mild Steel along with numerous other non-ferrous metals such as Brass, Copper, and Titanium. The latest Bystronic nesting software allows us to cut with an extremely high degree of accuracy which ensures maximum sheet usage with minimum waste.
What is Laser Cutting?
Laser cutting is a technology which uses a laser to slice materials. While it is typically used in the manufacturing industry, it is now starting to make it’s way into schools, small businesses and hobbyists.
Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high powered laser – most commonly through optics. The laser optics are used to direct the material, or the laser beam, that has been generated. The laser beam is directed at a material which then either melts, burns, vaporizes away or is blown away by a jet of gas.
